DARC tear up the Exe!

Exeter RC annual regatta held down on the Quay took place on 10th July this year, with only 425 metres race course, its all to play for every time you get on that start line.

With only skeleton crew at this regatta, the DARC girls knew they needed to qualify in order to get points for the Ladies Senior C Fours Championship to start building a lead.

Up first though, Nadine Smith in the ladies J18 scull, who absolutely smashed her heat and proceeded to her semi final. Sadly there was a withdrawal which meant she got automatically put through to her final again Isobel Burridge from Dart Totnes.

In a one vs. one final, Nadine rowed through to second against Burridge, with both putting on a brilliant show for the crowds lining the race course.

Next up was the DARC women's four of Ellie Langman, Tess Preston, Ellie Malley, Lottie Cusack in the Ladies Senior C fours, in their heat against the new club on the block, Carrick from Cornwall. Hot out the blocks, the girls demolished their opposition and crossed the line 2 lengths clear.

Up against Bideford Reds and Dart Totnes in the final, the girls knew they were in for championship points. With a battle against Reds off the line, they squeezed out to a one length lead and crossed the line in first, getting their 3 points!

Thanks to our support crew and particularly Buster Hart, who kindly towed the boats for us.
